If moisture gets in the bag dust mixes up with with it and starts stinking. If you got some water in the bag - THROW AWAY the disposable one and put a new one in. If the outer bag already absorbed the stench - take off the strap (try to save it so you can reuse it), turn the cloth bag inside out and put it in a washer for lite cycle. DO NOT put bag in a dryer but hang it and let it dry... ( back to TOP ) Nothing is wrong. Kirby vacuum could have been manufactured using alloys that would not oxidate that fast but then for a vacuum salesman who shows up at your door after several years it would be a lot harder to trade in. Your Kirby vacuum would be just as shiny as his new one. If you want to give a facelift to your Kirby vacuum - use a chrome polishing paste that you can get in any local automotive parts store. If you want scratches to be removed as well - you need a professional buffing equipment or simply send it to us.( back to TOP ) Sometimes even though the belt is in tact you may need to change it. If the green light on the nozzle is blinking when vacuuming - belt is stretched and needs to be replaced. ( back to TOP ) Change bag whenever dirt reaches the LINE. Otherwise dirt will cover the HOLE and would obstruct the air . If air can not find where to escape Kirby will loose the suction on the other end. And please check out our DEALS on bags :-) ( back to TOP )
