Will convert your 110 volt Kirby vacuum to 220 volt Kirby vacuum. Make sure your Kirby vacuum is one of the following models:
- Kirby G3
- Kirby G4
- Kirby G5
- Kirby Gsix
- Kirby Ultimate G
- Kirby Sentria
Kirby Ultimate G Diamond edition also will accept this motor but the switch lowering speed does not work with this motor without modifications. We have not done research on what has to be done to make the switch work. We recommend you cut wires near the switch and leave it in the shell just to cover the hole in the aluminum shell.
How do we do it?
We take 110 volt motors and ship them to a specialized shop for rewinding. It is stripped of old wires and and the motor is rewound with new wires to work with 220 volt power supply.
When we get them back here we have them running on lower voltage for a while to break in the motor brushes (conform with the commutator surface). Once brushes have been seated we have the motor running at full speed for a while to make sure that motor is running properly.
