Description   DISCONTINUED RAINBOW MOTOR ARMATURE, 220V, TALL New armatures are available only for tall (5/8 inch) 220 VOLTS brushes but you can use old style 1/2 brushes on it too. However you should never install tall brushes on old style armature that was made for 1/2 brushes as the tall brush edge would be above armature commutator plates. When installing a new armature we recommend installing new carbon brush pair too. Old brushes contour to the shape of the old armature commutator and to make contour to the shape of the new armature commutator use Brush Seater Stick.
