Possible causes and solutions
1 - problem with nozzle wiring inside or nozzle cord is damages or prongs loose contact with receptacle in the hose handle or within the unit
Solution - Check if prongs are not burned (if yes - replace the cord) If cord comes out of the receptacle fairly easy and plug just not stay in tight - use pliers and bend one of prongs a little bit from the other. This will create more friction within the receptacle and cord will stay. Or you can just replace the cord and receptacle.

2 - Problem with the hose (applies to systems that have electrified hose with pistol-grip handle)
To determine if hose is the problem you can connect nozzle directly into the unit bypassing the hose and then try to move the nozzle around while it is working to see if the problem will persist thus ruling out problems with the hose
  • There may be similar problem with a little pigtail cord as with nozzle cord (Rainbow SE and SE Performance vacuum models)
Solution - buy a new hose. If you do not mind messing with wiring - buy the cheapest nozzle cord you can find and install it instead of damaged pigtail (will not look pretty with all the electrical tape on it but will do the job)
  • Trigger (if there is a trigger on the hose you have) is worn and does not press the switch within the handle all the way in.
Solution - replace the trigger. Available trigger HERE.
  • Receptacle in the hose is worn
Solution - just use above described solution - bending nozzle cord prong to the side and creating more friction that way.

  • 3 - Problem with the receptacle or wiring within the unit.
  • Receptacle in the vacuum is worn
Solution - just use above described solution - bending nozzle cord prong to the side and creating more friction that way.
  • Something wrong with wiring within the motor
Solution - to check that you will need to take apart the vacuum and inspect the switch and wiring

    For E-series - look HERE
