This filter is for Rainbow E2 vacuums with two speed motors (low / off / high). This E2 filter should last you for few years as long as you use your Rainbow vacuum for regular cleaning. Do not vacuum plaster dust, or ashes from your fireplace. Water will not be able to absorb high volume of this fine dust and it will be left to the HEPA filter to capture it which it will. However the filter will be clogged in a few seconds and you will have to replace it or Rainbow manufacturer also suggests washing it.

Even though it is "washable" we would really recommend just getting a new filter. Washing the smallest dust particles out of microscopic filter pores is nearly impossible. It will not recover 100% airflow and, if the filter is very dirty, and after washing it does not dry properly it may even start stinking and molding.

We have less expensive generic filter that will meet or exceed genuine filter performance.
