RAINBOW 'E' SERIES VACUUM FACE PLATE

Part R7382. Old part number 9713 is nowhere to be found in the new parts catalog

REPLACEMENT INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Unplug the Rainbow vacuum.
  2. Remove 2 clear lenses on the sides of the unit. You will have to use small flat screwdriver to release latches on the top of the lenses.
  3. Under the lenses there will be 4 or 6 Phillips screws - remove those. Then you will be able to remove Rainbow cap assembly and access the faceplate from inside.
  4. Unplug the faceplate harness
  5. The face plate is also attached to the main housing with 2 screws near the bottom - get those out.
  6. You may have to use a knife to cut through the glue on the bottom - between gasket and the intake duct (part of the faceplate) thus detaching the faceplate.
  7. Lift the face plate up by about 1/2 inch and pull it out
  8. When installing you may want to put a bead of weather-stripping glue around the intake where you had to cut the glue on the old faceplate.
