Kirby G3 and G4 hose will not fit later Kirby models
Last Updated: 05/28/2009
I thought that all G series Kirby vacuum model attachments would also fit the Ultimate G Kirby. The Ultimate G Kirby vacuum seems to have a thicker gasket in the front of the unit and my G3 Kirby hose does not attach. Do I need to buy a Ultimate g hose?

Attachment compatibility

Kirby G3 and G4 models had different gasket on the front of the unit so the suction blower connector connecting Kirby hose to the unit is different. You do not need to replace entire hose but just the plastic part that connects to the vacuum. You can find it HERE .

To remove old connector you may have to submerge the end of the hose into hot water (not to hot to touch) so the hose vinyl becomes soft and you can bend it in with your finger bringing old connector over the lip on the molded end of the hose.

Also Safety Cup from Kirby G3 and G4 will not fit the later models. All other attachments are interchangeable.
