    To cancel the transaction:
You should not have bought it if you intended to cancel in the first place so shame on you. However things happen – your maid said she will never use it, you woke up and you feel – “oh my god what have I done”, you were under salesman’s spells yesterday and now when he/she is gone you do not really want it that much. These are the steps you should follow to ensure successful return and refund:

  1. Call the Kirby office that sold you the vacuum and inform them about your decision (you should have the telephone number on the receipt). Be ready for another hard closing session once they come to pick up the Kirby vacuum.
  2. Now you have to read the cancellation instruction on the receipt or financing contract and follow it to the letter. Does not matter that you were promised that “We will have someone in the area in a few days and they will stop by and pick it up”. Occasionally you will run into dishonest sales organization that will try to get you past the cancellation term and then pretend as if nothing happened. Sign forms and mail them with delivery signature confirmation. This has to be done within 3 business days from the day you have signed it. Saturday usually is considered a ”business day”.
  3. Call your credit card company and cancel the payment. If this is financing – call finance company and tell them about your decision to cancel.
  4. If salesman took your old vacuum as trade-in and you want it back – make sure they give it to you before you let them take the Kirby sweeper.
  5. If you have no number or dealer is giving you a lot of trouble - call Kirby Co. (800) 494 8586 and complain.
  6. Give them a chance to make it right, however if you are having a "Pure Nightmare"  - file a complaint with Better Business Bureau, share your experience on: www.consumeraffairs.com, www.cockeyed.com, www.complaintsboard.com, www.complaints.com, www.ripoffreport.com
