There 2 fairly different online sources:
1. Classified ads (such as craigslist) and auction sites (Ebay - like).
Those sites are like a giant flea market. Seller pays a small fee (or nothing) to post his item for sale. Seller may or may not care about the negative feedback. Some sellers would consider few hundred dollar profit well worth getting a negative feedback or even being banned from the site completely. Despite of few crooks I believe that the most of sellers are honest people. Occasionally you may have disagreement over the condition of the vacuum. It is understood that a seller would tend to think of the product better than the buyer. It is just a natural conflict of interests. Buying from an established seller that has 100+ of feedback as a seller is a bit safer. Such seller is probably making a living doing this so he/she will care about feedback. Such seller will put some effort and money to resolve the problem if transaction does not go smoothly. Seller that sells Kirby sweepers on a regular basis (see "completed auctions" or "Other Seller Items") would be more capable of resolving any issues. He/she probably has access to parts and has some or maybe a lot of knowledge about the product. Of course you will end up paying more when buying from sellers like that. To get the best possible deal you are most likely from sellers that work as sales people retailing other brand vacuums. They would not turn in those vacuums in the office but rather keep for themselves and sell them online. Their cost is 0 (or very close to that) so they will let it go for "whatever". This will be a bit of the gamble for you. You may get really excellent unit for a very low price or you may end up with yet another headache. Those sellers may have very little knowledge of the vacuum nor they would really care if you give bad feedback. Especially be cautious if someone advertises 10 year old vacuum as "used once or twice" or "my granny bought it and never used it" . This may be a very bold understatement. Like old saying says - "If it is too good to be true - it probably is".

Online store (just like ours)
It takes thousands of hours to build an online store like www.GoodVac.com. It is massive work and we did not go through all this just to get your few hundred dollars from one buyer and disappear. I am sure that our competitors think likewise. It does not mean that we have never had a problem. We have had few customers that were one of those people that will never be happy - no matter what you do. We have made mistakes ourselves . Our company is ran by humans and we do make mistakes just like anybody else. But give us a chance by giving us a call. Let us know what is wrong and we will take care of the problem.

Kirby sweeper online is so cheap - it must be stolen
This is a usual salesman reaction when you pull up a page on the internet with Kirby cleaning system priced way under what they just told you. They can pitch all warranties and extra bags they want but it is pretty hard to justify this mammoth difference in the price other than "it is stolen" claim. There may be some vacuums being sold online that are in fact stolen but this is very unlikely. So if idea of buying a year old car and saving yourself 10-20% off the new car price does not sound crazy - go ahead and buy used Kirby vacuum and save yourself 50% or more.

Kirby vacuums sold online have no warranty
This is only partially true. Kirby vacuums will be covered under manufacturer's warranty only if you are an original buyer and bought it during in home demonstration. However online stores offer their warranties and using the warranty is not that much more complicated or expensive. Shipping across entire country will be anywhere from 10 to 25 dollars. Your local Kirby vacuum dealer may be miles away and gas and time it will take you to drive there to get your vacuum looked at may cost you way more than just shipping the vacuum to online merchant for repair. GoodVac.com will cover all continental US shipping charges if your vacuum would break within 90 days from the date of purchase. You would be responsible for shipping charges after the initial 90 days though.

Kirby Company offers lifetime warranty
This is not true. Original buyer will have "Lifetime Rebuilt Agreement". This sometimes is misinterpreted by some sales people as warranty. This is NOT warranty - this is a plan where buyer can send his/her vacuum to Kirby Company where it will be reconditioned for a bit under $200.00. Buyer will also be responsible for all shipping charges. Good news - for $200.00 GoodVac.com will recondition your Kirby vacuum and it does not matter where and when you bought it. Our service includes new brush roll, bumper, wheels, hub caps, belt and fan. On the top of that we will buff aluminum and make the Kirby vacuum look like the day it was made and we will ship it back to you at no additional charge (continental US customers only).
