Can I use Kirby ZipBrush for spot shampoo
Last Updated: 12/18/2009
Can I use it with carpet shampoo as a spot cleaner? I can't find anywhere if it says that this can be done or not- or will the shampoo get into the motor and wreck it?

Can I use Kirby ZipBrush to shampoo spots on the carpet?

Kirby is NOT designed to vacuum anything wet. Moisture would retain tons of dirt inside the hose fan chamber, bag miniemptor and bag fill tube. Also when moisture gets in the bag it will get absorbed by dirt. Dirt and moisture is better not to mix as it will start stinking and possibly growing mold.. Not even talking about the motor that is not made to suck water. So answer is DEFINITELLY NO.

If accidentally you have vacuumed up some water and you sure that some water got into the bag we would recommend replacing the disposable bag with new one right away. If there is a chance that electrical parts got wet -we would not recommend turing on the Kirby to avoid electric shock. Take nozzle of, bag off and leave it for several days just to make sure that everything dries completely.
